I know the song immediately comes to mind. But beyond the reflection that her lyrics bring us, let's contemplate life and think about what happens when something or someone passes through our life. Some people say that the school passed through her but she did not pass through the school and, change the school for the university, the church, the town or for any other institution, person or place that occurs to you and the point of reflection will be the same.
When school passes through our lives, it touches us, it makes us cry, it makes us strive, it makes us transform, it makes us grow, it makes us train. Because that is the essence of the school, its function, its mission, its objective. Every training site wants to reach our mind, our heart and transform it. And when we say, she went through the school, she surely left in the history of the institution a legacy of transformation, of change, of growth, a mark of her effort and her work in it.
Now imagine when we say: Jesus passed through that person. Jesus and the essence of him, his mission, his eternal and all-powerful project that consists of touching and changing everything or something of what he touches. Everyone who has allowed themselves to be involved in the message of Jesus becomes a leader, a testimony, an example that love can do everything, that if you love everything as you love yourself, nothing remains the same after your presence. It is up to you so that your spirit and the essence of God in your life grows, becomes stronger and is seen as if you were a candle in the middle of the darkness.
You do not remain the same when you allow yourself to be touched by Jesus: your scale of values adjusts to the commandments. The scale of qualities of your profile as a person adjusts to the scale of values of works of mercy. The structure of your life revolves around the sacraments. What you think, say or do comes together in the coherence of your apostolic mission. It becomes the purpose and foundation of your existence.
When we keep all this reflection in mind, we can appreciate the magnitude of saying: Jesus is passing by here. Jesus transforms everything he touches. And even in the midst of the difficulties, the problems, the conflicts of life that will always be there, you are happy. You don't look at those moments or those crisis situations with sadness, because he arrives with joy.
When Jesus comes into your life: the chains, the attachments are broken, they leave. There is not space for resentment, anger, selfishness, revenge, envy, impatience, lies, pain, darkness, evil. Heaven comes into your life and you live happily. Being a teacher for your partner and your children becomes the meaning of life. Working in the company or institution where you work and coming home to do what you have to do is a reason for praise and gratitude. How Jesus made the rich miser think that he wanted to go to heaven, the healing of Peter's mother-in-law, the healing of the deaf-mute of the Decapolis, the healing of the man born blind, the healing of the paralytic in Bethesda, the healing of the blind man of Bethsaida and that of Bartimaeus, the healing of the centurion's servant and the bent woman. Have you thought about all these miracles and how Jesus touched each of them and how that story can touch you?
There are healings that he did by laying on his hands, touching the other, others by letting the other touch him, others through his message, in person, from a distance. But each healing has a meaning, to touch the other, to touch them so deeply that no mental or physical illness remains in the leadership of that life. Touch to change, so that the message of love and being happy governs our life, the time we have destined to live it.
Jesus is passing through here, and my words touch you and me, and transform your life and mine, in this moment and every time they talk to you about Jesus. And nothing stays the same after Jesus touches your life. Everything acquires a meaning, a purpose, a foundation and that means that nothing, not the cruelest disease, not the hardest tragedy, not the strongest mental or personal crisis, he want to dominate your life with its message of love, peace, joy and hope. So let yourself be touched, don't close the door, don't run in the opposite direction to his word. Do not run away or leave until tomorrow to see and reflect on the presence of Jesus on your way. Jesus is passing by here.
